Construction begins on new child care spaces at Maple View Lodge

The expansion is part of its ongoing commitment to increasing access to high-quality licensed child care spaces

Construction is beginning Monday on a new child care expansion project at Maple View Lodge in Athens.

The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville says the first phase of the project will focus on preparing the site for the future construction of new licensed child care spaces.

Officials say the safety, comfort and well-being of Maple View Lodge residents will remain the top priority throughout the work. Planning has been completed to reduce disruptions to residents, daily routines and the delivery of care and services.

“Every precaution has been taken to ensure this work can proceed safely while maintaining the high quality of life our residents enjoy each day,” said Chief Administrative Officer Al Horsman.

Construction crews will work closely with lodge leadership to maintain a safe environment for residents, staff, visitors and contractors.

The Counties say updates will be shared as the project reaches key milestones. The expansion is part of its ongoing commitment to increasing access to high-quality licensed child care spaces.
