Provincial police are investigating a death in Perth after a person was found with life-threatening injuries at a local park.
The Lanark County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police says officers were called to Last Duel Park on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at about 3:15 p.m.
Police say one individual was located and taken to a trauma centre, where they were later pronounced dead.
Investigators say early information suggests the incident is isolated, with no indication of a wider threat to the public.
Residents in the area can expect to see a continued police presence as the investigation moves forward.
The case is being led by the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, working with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Several specialized units, including the Emergency Response Team and Forensic Identification Services, are also assisting.
