An individual is facing multiple criminal charges after a police pursuit on Highway 401 in Leeds County ended with a collision involving two police vehicles. Leeds County OPP said officers were requested to assist SD&G OPP on Wednesday, April 22, shortly after 7 p.m., after a blue sedan failed to stop. Police located the vehicle travelling on Highway 401 and were able to bring it to a stop.
During the stop, the driver attempted to evade officers and struck two police vehicles. There were no injuries reported to the driver, officers or members of the public. As part of the investigation, police seized nearly ten grams of suspected methamphetamine from the vehicle.
A 42-year-old man from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, has been charged with flight from peace officer, dangerous operation, impaired driving involving alcohol and drugs, mischief over $5,000, possession of a Schedule I substance and failing to stop for police.
