Police say the investigation supports ongoing efforts to improve community safety
Two people are facing drug trafficking charges after a search warrant was executed at a residence on Centre Street in Prescott on April 9.
The Brockville Police Service says the warrant was carried out under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act following a lengthy investigation into the trafficking of Schedule I drugs, including methamphetamine and cocaine.
Officers arrested a 30-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man without incident. Police say they seized a quantity of methamphetamine, cash, cellphones and other items consistent with drug trafficking.
At the time of her arrest, the woman was serving a conditional sentence order for two previous trafficking convictions. She is now charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and was held in custody for breaching her order.
The man is charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking and was released with a future court date.
Police say the investigation supports ongoing efforts to improve community safety.
