The Edwardsburgh/Cardinal project aims to encourage physical activity and help reduce social isolation
Edwardsburgh/Cardinal has officially opened new accessible outdoor exercise equipment in Johnstown and Cardinal.
The project includes inclusive fitness stations and paved pathways designed to support active living and improve access for residents.
The township received $57,935 from the Ontario government’s Enhancing Access to Spaces for Everyone (EASE) grant program to support the project. The funding was announced in February as part of more than $2 million in provincial funding for more than 40 accessibility projects across Ontario.
Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark attended the opening alongside Edwardsburgh/Cardinal Mayor Tory Deschamps.
The province says EASE grants are available to municipalities, non-profit organizations and Indigenous organizations for projects that create more inclusive and accessible spaces.
