The Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley has announced Charles “Chuck” Dowdall as its new Director of Finance, starting Sept. 8, 2025.
Dowdall brings more than 40 years of experience in banking and public service. He replaces Christine Martin, who is retiring after 32 years in municipal finance, including four with the Township.
Mayor Brant Burrow welcomed Dowdall, praising his strong background in both the private and public sectors. The mayor also highlighted Dowdall’s calm and friendly approach, which is expected to support a smooth transition.
Dowdall has held senior roles in Toronto, Brantford, and Kingston, and spent 20 years in commercial banking. He holds a B.Comm (Hons.), an MBA from Queen’s University, and CSC and PFP designations.
Raised in Perth, Ont., Dowdall understands rural challenges and is passionate about serving communities. He and his wife Lauranna are excited to become full-time residents of Elizabethtown-Kitley.
