Fat Les owner Les Winters is responding to rumours that his King Street restaurant is closing.

Winters says the rumours are false and Fat Les on King Street is staying open.

In a message to customers, Winters acknowledged the restaurant has experienced some slow days and that running the business has been a struggle. However, he said the King Street location is here to stay.

Winters also thanked customers for their continued support and encouraged people to shop local.

The Fat Les waterfront location on Blockhouse Island will close for the winter following Thanksgiving weekend, according to Winters. He said that location is expected to reopen next May.

The clarification comes as rumours about the King Street restaurant’s future circulated in the community.

Winters’ message aims to reassure customers that Fat Les on King Street will continue operating, while the waterfront location takes its regular seasonal break over the winter months.
