Avoid unnecessary burning
Fire bans have been put in place in communities across the region, and now Natural Resources Canada’s “fire forecast” has placed our listening area in the RED zone for forested areas.
The designation comes with the following conditions:
"Fast-spreading, high-intensity crown fire. Very difficult to control. Suppression actions limited to flanks, with only indirect actions possible against the fire's head."
Although some areas are allowing camp and cooking fires, with the lack of rain and dry conditions official says avoid any burning that isn't absolutely necessary.
