Although their time on council is ending, their public service may not be over, as Brockville looks ahead to a new term and new faces around the council table
Brockville is thanking five outgoing city council members who have spent decades helping shape the community, with nearly 90 years of combined municipal service between them.
Last night marked the final meeting of the current Brockville City Council term. The occasion included recognition for Mayor Matt Wren and Councillors Jeff Earle, Mike Kalivas, Nathalie Lavergne and Katherine Hobbs, who are not seeking re-election.
Former Brockville mayors John Doran and Jason Baker joined in paying tribute to the departing politicians and thanking them for their commitment to the city.
The recognition celebrated years of work on local issues and decisions that affect residents, businesses and families across Brockville.
During the remarks, the former mayors also encouraged the outgoing members to remain involved in the community, reminding them that their contributions are still needed.
