Former Brockville Public Library CEO Geraldine Slark has been charged with fraud and breach of trust after allegedly using a corporate credit card for personal spending exceeding $21,000.
The Brockville Police Service launched an investigation in June 2025 following concerns first identified during a December 2024 internal review of the library’s finances. The review flagged suspicious transactions that led officials to request police assistance.
Police say the investigation confirmed Slark improperly used the library’s corporate credit card for personal expenses. On Monday, March 30, she was formally charged with fraud over $5,000 and breach of trust.
Slark was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. The case has drawn attention from the local community and library patrons, raising questions about oversight and financial management at public institutions.
