Former Manoll's Fish and Chips owner Angelo Trakas is being remembered for the legacy he built in Brockville after his family announced his passing.
In a social media post, the family said Trakas immigrated from Greece to Canada in 1970 with very little and built a successful life through hard work and determination.
Trakas and his wife purchased Manoll's Fish and Chips in 1972 and operated the restaurant until 2005. The family said he was proud when his daughter, Anna, took ownership of the business in 2016, ensuring it would continue serving the Brockville community.
The post also noted that Trakas was involved with Midtown Cafe alongside his children. Beyond business, he was well known in the community as a member of the Brockville Legion and the Brockville Men's Club.
