A free regional seminar is coming to Kemptville to help build more accessible and inclusive communities.
The Leeds and Grenville Accessibility Advisory Committee is hosting the event Oct. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.
The seminar is open to residents, businesses, community organizations, municipal staff and accessibility advocates.
Participants will hear personal experiences from people who face accessibility barriers and learn practical ways to make workplaces, services and communities more inclusive.
This year's keynote speaker is Mike Shoreman, a mental health and disability advocate, author and professional speaker.
Shoreman is known for his Great Lakes Crossings campaign supporting youth mental health. He will discuss why accessibility goes beyond compliance and how organizations can create more inclusive environments.
