The 'One Canada Economy Act' and defense spending
Parliament has passed what's called the 'One Canada Economy Act'. Leeds-Grenville Thousand Islands & Rideau Lakes MP Michael Barrett explains.
Barrett adds that the Conservatives have added amendments to ensure proper oversight.
Prime Minister Mark Carney announced an increase in defense spending at the NATO summit, after years of criticism that the country wasn't spending enough.
Barrett says it's a key move.
Barrett says there are many investments needed in order to provide better resources to Canada's military.
