Knowing which pests and diseases to watch for is another key step to ensure a healthy, fruitful garden this spring
Gardening season is nearly here, and Darrin and Carla Coville, owners of Coville’s Greenhouses and Garden Centre in Prescott, are helping local residents prepare early.
Carla Coville explained a common mistake gardeners make before the season even begins.
She said that doing research will benefit any local gardener. She advised residents to understand each plant’s needs, including sunlight, soil type, and compatibility with other plants.
She also shared which vegetables should be planted first.
Some plants can start indoors, while others are best planted outside.
Carla cautioned that residents can be overzealous, planting too early, which may slow the entire gardening process.
She added that knowing which pests and diseases to watch for is another key step to ensure a healthy, fruitful garden this spring.
