Have you considered volunteering this summer?

Some positions may also require training, certification or weekend availability

As summer arrives in Brockville, local organizations across Leeds and Grenville are calling for more volunteers to support events, sports and community programs.

Groups including Brockville and Area Special Olympics, United Way Leeds and Grenville and the Brockville and Area Food Bank are looking for residents willing to donate their time during the busy summer season.

High school students are also being encouraged to volunteer to complete community service hours while gaining experience and building references for future jobs or school applications.

Organizations say volunteers play an important role in helping Brockville programs and events operate smoothly throughout the summer.

People interested in volunteering may be asked to provide a resume, references or a background record check, depending on the role and organization.

Some positions may also require training, certification or weekend availability.
