An update on the South East Health Unit
The South East Health Unit has provided a progress update to its Board on the ongoing merger of three legacy health units.
A significant amount of work is underway to streamline operations and unify services under a single organizational structure.
Key developments include the creation of an implementation plan to launch a new brand this fall and the reassignment of program staff to their new teams starting in September.
Several cross-portfolio projects are being harmonized, such as electronic medical records, fax system integration, call intake processes, client service standards, medical directives, and the organization’s website.
Staff are being supported through change management webinars, including sessions titled Navigating Change at Work and Creating Connections at Work.
Priority policies are being reviewed, with initial drafts set to go to the Management Committee on August 21.
Work also continues on unifying IT systems, including a common Microsoft tenant, with a go-live goal of fall 2025.
