September 21-25
Motorists are being advised of a major closure on Highway 416 this month.
The Ministry of Transportation says all northbound lanes between Spencerville (Exit 12) and Oxford Station (Exit 24) will be shut down from 10 p.m. on Sept. 21 until 6 a.m. on Sept. 25.
The closure will allow crews to replace the Highway 416 / Raycroft Municipal Drain Box Culvert, part of planned infrastructure upgrades.
A signed detour will direct traffic onto County Roads 21, 22 and 20 before rejoining the highway. Officials say traffic control measures will be in place to minimize disruption, but drivers should still expect delays and plan ahead.
The work is being carried out by R.W. Tomlinson Limited on behalf of the Ministry of Transportation, with contract administration provided by Egis Group.
Updates are available through Ontario 511 and the Traveler Information Services interactive map.
