A collision on Highway 416 near North Grenville has led to impaired driving charges against a 24-year-old man from Iroquois.
Grenville OPP say officers responded shortly after 9 p.m. on Monday, October 27 after a pickup truck crashed into a parked construction site crash truck on the southbound lanes just south of the Rideau River.
North Grenville firefighters and Leeds-Grenville paramedics also attended the scene. The driver of the pickup was taken to hospital as a precaution, while the operator of the crash truck was checked by paramedics. No serious injuries were reported.
Following an investigation, police charged Cole Ramsay with dangerous operation, impaired driving, and having a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit. He was also charged with having open and readily available liquor in the vehicle.
Ramsay’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle impounded for seven. He is scheduled to appear in court in Brockville on November 14.
