Progress is being made
Brockville General Hospital says its new Lumio system is steadily improving one year after launch, even as staff and physicians continue to work through ongoing challenges.
President and CEO Julie Caffin says Lumio has required major adjustments across the hospital, from front-line teams to clinical departments. She says the past year has brought delays, frustrations and a steep learning curve, but also steady progress as everyone adapts.
Caffin says the priority now is supporting staff, improving workflow and making sure the system eventually delivers the long-term benefits it was designed for. She also thanked the community for its patience as the transition continues.
She says reactions to Lumio have been mixed, with some doctors struggling and others embracing the new technology. But she says the hospital is committed to fixing issues and moving forward.
Caffin says the hospital remains confident Lumio will deliver improved care once fully optimized.
