The Jr. Braves hockey players are teaming up with TISS Treasure Chest, BCI Norm, The Pier Church and Loaves & Fishes to spread holiday cheer across the community. Together, they’re collecting between 200 and 250 Christmas Essentials Love Bags filled with personal care items for local men and women in need.
Organizers are asking for donations of everyday essentials such as shampoo, body wash, razors, deodorant, hand cream, lip balm, and small extras like hair bands or hand warmers.
Community members can drop off items during the U18 Tournament weekend from Friday to Sunday (Nov. 14 to 16) to help “Fill the Box,” or join volunteers to pack bags on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Pier Church.
The completed gift bags will be shared at the Loaves & Fishes Community Christmas Dinner on Dec. 18. Monetary donations are also welcome.
