Kemptville District Hospital is warning patients of longer wait times in its Emergency Department as the hospital deals with capacity pressures.
The hospital said it is currently operating at 139 per cent capacity for inpatients, creating additional pressure on staff and physicians.
KDH is encouraging people who can access care through their primary care provider, such as a family doctor or nurse practitioner, to consider that option instead of going to the Emergency Department.
Patients can also use Health811 to get health advice and help determine where to seek care.
The hospital said its team is working to manage the increase in patients by triaging care based on medical needs.
The capacity pressures are affecting wait times in the Emergency Department, although patients requiring urgent care will continue to be assessed according to their needs.
