Registration for the 2026–27 school year begins January 5th, 2026
Families across eastern Ontario are preparing for a big milestone as Kindergarten registration opens soon in the Upper Canada District School Board.
The UCDSB says registration for the 2026–27 school year begins Jan. 5, 2026. Educators say starting school is an important step that supports learning, confidence and curiosity in young children.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to register early. January registration helps schools plan ahead and allows families to take part in transition activities.
Families can choose the right school using the board’s online school locator, which shows eligibility based on location and transportation. Many schools will also host Kindergarten information sessions in January and February, with open houses planned for the spring.
All registrations are completed online through the My Family Room parent portal on the UCDSB website. Families who need help can contact their local school directly.
Some schools also offer before- and after-school child care programs.
More information is available from local schools or by calling 1-800-267-7131.
