A King Street business says its tip jar was stolen shortly before closing yesterday, leaving the owners disappointed and looking at new security measures.

O’Mally Kourt Fudgery owners Joanne, Jamie and Pat say the tip jar was taken last night, just before the Brockville shop closed for the night.

The owners say they believe two local people were responsible for the theft, although no further details about the suspects were provided.

In a message to the public, the owners described the theft as upsetting and said they were disappointed that anyone would steal from hard-working people.

The business is now considering ways to lock and secure its tip jar to prevent a similar incident in the future.

The owners are asking members of the public to be aware of the theft and say the incident has left them frustrated.

No information about whether the theft was reported to police was provided.
