With assistance from members of the public, police located the suspect on County Road 19
A large police search in Kemptville early yesterday ended with one person safely taken into custody, Ontario Provincial Police say.
Grenville OPP received a call just before 4:30 a.m. about mischief in progress in the Kemptville Campus area of North Grenville. Officers were given a description of a suspect and began searching the area.
The search expanded into the Town of Kemptville and included members of the OPP East Region Emergency Response Team and the OPP Canine Unit. A public advisory was issued due to the heavy police presence, but officers said there was no threat to public safety at any time.
With assistance from members of the public, police located the suspect on County Road 19. The individual was taken into custody without incident.
OPP say the investigation is ongoing. Further details are expected to be released as they become available.
