Late-night traffic stop in Brockville leads to shocking drug and alcohol seizure

During a further search, police found a small quantity of crack cocaine

Brockville police say a 58-year-old man is facing several charges after a late-night traffic stop led to a drug seizure.

On Tuesday (Nov. 4), around 11:00 p.m., officers pulled over a vehicle near King Street East and Bennett Street. Police say the officer recognized the driver as someone with a suspended licence.

When the vehicle was stopped, officers noticed open alcohol and cannabis inside. The driver was arrested, and during a further search, police found a small quantity of crack cocaine.

The man’s vehicle was impounded for seven days, and he was charged with multiple offences, including driving while under suspension, having open liquor in a vehicle, and driving with cannabis readily available.

He also faces a charge of possessing unmarked cigarettes. Police remind drivers that combining alcohol, drugs, and driving violations can lead to serious legal consequences and vehicle impoundments.
