The Brockville & Area Special Olympics is inviting local businesses and community partners to take part in a bocce fundraiser tournament to help send six athletes to the National Games in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
The event will be held at Hardy Park in Brockville on July 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with registration opening at 8:30 a.m.
Businesses and organizations are encouraged to enter teams of four to compete against other local businesses and Special Olympics athletes. Registration costs $100 per team and includes a barbecue lunch.
Organizers say the fundraiser will help cover travel costs for six local athletes competing at the national event. Strong performances at the National Games could give athletes the opportunity to represent Canada at the 2027 World Games.
