Dave and Margo Nicoll are devastated after a garage fire Tuesday afternoon at their home on West McLean Blvd. in Maitland.
Brian Groves is a long-time, family friend.
He adds that Dave is an avid sign collector, who used to own Seaway Treasures in downtown Brockville.
The couple believes the fire destroyed around $500,000 in collectable items.
The cause of it is unknown at this time.
