Next up is the 1000 Islands Regatta next weekend
It was a weekend to remember for Brockville's Kent Henderson and the H350 hydroplane team at the second stop of the Hydroplane Racing League tour, as they secured their first win since 2019 in dramatic fashion.
After a rocky start with a fourth-place finish in the opening heat, the team bounced back with a second-place run on Saturday. Sunday’s Father’s Day action saw them advance from the consolation to the final after placing second in the third qualifier.
Strategic advice from radio man Jim Manessis and a strong start put them in position — and when three boats jumped the gun at the start of the final, the path to victory opened.
Crew chief Trevor Worden earned his first win, with key support from locals Doug Petersen, Cody Paul, and others. The team dedicated the win to their late friend Lee Kerton, who passed away in 2022, and also celebrated Henderson's son Kolin on his seventh-place debut in the N519 class.
