Two of the winning films will compete at the Ontario Youth Film Festival in November
Young filmmakers stole the spotlight on June 5 during the 10th anniversary MyView Youth Film Festival at the Brockville Arts Centre.
Six finalists gathered with alumni, family and friends for a red carpet event that ended with big prizes. Ian and Isaac Dennis of Kemptville took the $1,000 grand prize for Just Be You.
Other winners included Dear Future Me by students from St. Michael’s Catholic High School, which earned the YMCA Prize. Mara Knudsen of Athens won the 10-13 age category with Finding Confidence, and Brunham and Sebo: Theoretical Services by Harrison Campbell and Miles Dockendorff took the 14-17 category.
Emma Yakimovich won the “Best of the Fest” for You’re Not Alone.
