Lumber truck rollover brings Highway 401 traffic to a crawl east of Brockville
Eastbound traffic on Highway 401 east of Brockville is at a near standstill following a tractor-trailer rollover near Sharpe’s Lane.
The crash involved a transport truck carrying a load of lumber. As a result, the right lane and right shoulder are closed while emergency crews respond to the scene and work to manage traffic.
Vehicles are being directed through the area using the left lane and left shoulder, but traffic is moving very slowly, leading to significant delays for motorists travelling through the corridor.
Drivers heading toward Maitland and Prescott are being advised to consider alternate routes to avoid congestion. County Road 2 and the Second Concession are recommended as possible detours around the incident.
The driver has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Motorists are urged to use caution, expect delays and allow extra travel time while crews continue their work at the scene.
