Police say a 32-year-old man was arrested after allegedly trying to enter an apartment through a bathroom window in breach of court-ordered probation conditions.
Officers were called around 10 p.m. on April 13 to a Central Avenue building after a woman reported her ex-boyfriend attempting to climb inside. The man is prohibited from being within 100 metres of the woman, including her residence, following prior intimate partner violence incidents.
Police initially believed the suspect had fled. However, officers found evidence he had been in the building’s common area. A search led to the man being located hiding in a closet.
He was arrested without incident and charged with two counts of failing to comply with probation, as well as entering premises when entry is prohibited under the Trespass to Property Act.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing and no further details have been released.
