Early Sunday morning
Two masked suspects broke into R&P Petroleum on Stewart Boulevard early Sunday morning, stealing food and drinks before fleeing in a stolen SUV.
Police say they received a 911 call around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10 about a break and enter at the gas station, located at 690 Stewart Blvd. Officers arrived quickly, but the suspects had already left the scene.
Surveillance video showed a black 2021 Honda Pilot, reported stolen from New Brunswick, pull up to the store. Two masked suspects exited the vehicle. One tried to block the camera with a fire extinguisher while the other broke into the store.
The alarm went off as they left minutes later with stolen items. A full list of stolen goods is still being prepared.
Police seized evidence for forensic testing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Brockville Police at 613-342-0127 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
