Construction begins next week
Brockville is adding more fun and accessibility to its parks in 2025 with the installation of three new accessible playgrounds, including one at the popular Blockhouse Island.
The new play structure at Blockhouse Island will be installed during the week of July 21 to 25. Visitors are asked to plan ahead, as access to that area may be limited during construction.
Blockhouse Island is one of Brockville’s most visited spots in the summer, offering beautiful waterfront views and family-friendly spaces. While the new playground is being built, families are encouraged to visit Hardy Park, which is just a short walk away and also has play facilities.
This upgrade is part of Brockville’s ongoing effort to make city parks more inclusive, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone. With more accessible features on the way, 2025 is set to be an exciting year for local families.
