The Ontario SPCA Leeds and Grenville Animal Centre is asking the community to step up and provide temporary foster homes for cats and kittens as the shelter continues to care for animals in need.
The animal centre says more foster volunteers are needed to look after cats and kittens until they are healthy, old enough, or otherwise ready to be adopted into permanent homes. Fostering helps free up space at the shelter while giving animals a safe and caring environment.
The centre also has many cats currently available for adoption and is encouraging anyone thinking about adding a pet to their family to consider adopting.
Staff say foster families play an important role by providing daily care, socialization, and a temporary home while the animals wait for adoption.
