On November 25th
On November 25, Brockville Police responded to a call about a disruptive passenger on a Via Rail train passing through Brockville around 10:45 p.m.
The passenger, a 30-year-old Ottawa man, had previously been trespassed from Via Rail property for causing problems and was found consuming his own alcohol while intoxicated.
For the safety of other passengers, the train stopped in Brockville, and officers were called.
The man was uncooperative with staff and police, leading to his removal from the train for trespassing and arrest due to intoxication.
Further investigation revealed he had previously uttered threats toward Via Rail staff.
Once sober, he was released on conditions with a future court date for uttering threats and received fines for trespassing and being intoxicated in a public place.
