Brockville Police and the Ontario Provincial Police asked the public to avoid Glenn Wood Place and Reynolds Drive for an investigation.
The OPP Tactical Unit and R.O.P.E. Squad entered 10 Glenn Wood Place early yesterday afternoon.
A resident in that building described what she saw in real time shortly after 1 p.m.
She then issued an important reminder to nearby residents after describing recent thefts in the area.
She also added that a Caucasian man wearing a black hat and a grey sweatshirt was arrested, and thanked law enforcement for their response.
Brockville Police later confirmed that a 42-year-old Brockville man has been arrested on an outstanding warrant for aggravated assault and weapons-related offences.
Ontario Provincial Police, assisted by Brockville Police Service, executed the warrant on Glenn Wood Avenue around 10:30 a.m. yesterday morning. The OPP ROPE and Tactical and Rescue Unit were also involved.
The accused remains in custody after yesterday's bail hearing.
