The TISS Pirates senior girls' basketball team ended their historic season with a dramatic silver-medal win at the OFSAA "AA" championship over the weekend, falling just short in a 35–34 thriller that had the Belleville crowd on its feet. The one-point final marked one of the closest finishes of the tournament and capped a remarkable run for the Pirates.
Led by head coach Kim Durant and assistant coach Brian Kloosterman, the team delivered consistent performances throughout the season and built momentum with each playoff game. School officials said the group has secured its place among the top girls basketball teams in TISS history.
A large “Pirate brigade” of families, friends and supporters travelled to Belleville, filling the stands and giving the athletes a loud boost during the final. The strong community turnout, combined with the team’s determined play, helped shape a season many in the school say they will never forget.
