As temperatures continue to warm up, many Brockville residents may be planning upgrades and changes to their homes.
The City of Brockville is reminding homeowners that many projects require permits before work can begin.
With more on what work often needs permits, here’s the City’s Natalie Finucan.
Finucan said projects such as porches, balconies and docks typically require permits. Updates to plumbing, heating and HVAC systems often need permits as well.
She noted smaller projects, including painting, landscaping and minor repairs, generally do not require permits.
Finucan also explained why obtaining permits is important.
According to Finucan, permit applications are often processed in about 10 days.
Residents planning a home project and looking to apply for a permit are encouraged to visit Brockville.com/building for more information.
