The Prescott Family Health Team says expanding its services will allow more residents to receive care closer to home

Prescott is welcoming a new family doctor, with about 1,100 patients expected to benefit from increased access to primary care.

Dr. Bennet (Ben) Ladowski has joined the Prescott Family Health Team and was officially welcomed to the community by local municipal leaders and MPP Steve Clark.

Prescott Mayor Gauri Shankar was joined by members of Prescott, Edwardsburgh Cardinal and Augusta councils for the welcome.

Ladowski was recruited through the Leeds Grenville Physician Recruitment Strategy, a partnership between municipalities across the region aimed at attracting doctors and improving access to primary care.

His arrival is expected to significantly increase the community’s primary care capacity.

Access to a family doctor can support preventative care, early diagnosis and ongoing treatment for individuals and families.

The Prescott Family Health Team says expanding its services will allow more residents to receive care closer to home.

Local officials also welcomed Ladowski and his family to the area as he begins serving patients in Prescott and surrounding communities.
