Local Member of Parliament Michael Barrett says there are underlying taxes that could be cut.
He said he is supportive of an affordability measure like that.
Barrett also warned that higher fuel costs will continue to affect the local economy, including food prices and tourism, a key part of Brockville’s income, especially as summer approaches.
He added that any government move to ease fuel costs would likely receive strong public support.
