Burnbrae Farms and the Hudson Family were recognized as Rural Champions at the inaugural Rural Ontario Inspiration Awards on Friday, highlighting people making a difference in rural communities.
Steve Clark attended the Rural Ontario Municipal Association conference, saying he was “honoured to be on hand” for the awards. Rural Affairs Minister Lisa Thompson created the program to spotlight leaders and organizations strengthening rural life across Ontario.
Margaret and Sue Hudson accepted the award on behalf of their family. Local officials from the region joined in the celebration, including Mayor Brant Burrow, Corinna Smith-Gatcke, Mayor of the Township of Leeds and The 1000 Islands, and Matt Wren, Mayor of Brockville.
