Trustees Jamie Schoular and Lynda Johnston have been reappointed as Chair and Vice-Chair of the Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) for the 2025-2026 school year. This marks the third consecutive year the pair will lead the Board of Trustees, following annual votes at the Board’s organizational meeting.
Schoular, first elected in 2018 and now serving his second term, continues his third year as Chair. Johnston, elected in 2022 and serving her first term, begins her third year as Vice-Chair.
Under their leadership, the UCDSB has maintained fiscal responsibility with modest budget surpluses, improved student achievement as evidenced by rising EQAO results in reading, writing, and math, and increased graduation rates. Enrolment has also grown as more families choose the UCDSB. The Board remains focused on student success, strong governance, and continuous improvement in public education across the region.
