Anyone who encounters Jenkins is asked to call 911 rather than approach him
Police are asking for the public’s help locating a federal offender who walked away from a Kingston, Ont., institution and is now wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.
The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad says Mason Jenkins, 49, left Collins Bay Institution on Sept. 24 after breaching statutory release.
Jenkins is described as 5-foot-9 and 255 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. He is currently bald. Police say he is known to frequent Kingston, Kitchener and Chatham, Ont.
Jenkins is serving a life sentence for first-degree murder and possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Authorities are asking anyone who has seen Jenkins or knows where he may be to contact the provincial R.O.P.E. Squad at 416-808-5900 or toll-free at 1-866-870-7673.
Information can also be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
