Led PENN State Hockey to their first ever Frozen Four
Brockville native Simon Mack is the 2025 Brockville Sports Person of the Year after leading PENN State to an NCAA Frozen Four appearance for the first time in the school's history this past season.
He says it's an honour to come back home and receive this award.
Mack says he's excited for what's ahead after signing a contract with the American Hockey League's Calgary Wranglers following his fourth and final year at PENN State.
Other nominees for the award included Brockville Country Club Golf Champion Adam Folco, star rookie defenseman for the Brockville Braves, Grady Spicer, Canadian pickleball champion Chad Valcour, and TISS track star Jackson Witham.
After receiving the honour at last night's Kinsmen Awards Banquet, Mack will attend tonight's induction ceremony for the Brockville and Area Sports Hall of Fame. It's at the Brockville Memorial Centre starting at 5:30 p.m.
