Six projects in Leeds and Grenville are receiving a combined $250,813 in provincial funding to support economic development, attract investment and plan for future growth.
Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP Steve Clark announced the funding Monday at the Spencerville Mill and Museum, which will receive $36,293 to install an elevator and improve accessibility.
The grants are part of Ontario’s $20-million Rural Ontario Development program.
Rideau Lakes is receiving $59,520 for historic village improvements, while Edwardsburgh Cardinal gets $50,000 for an industrial park expansion study. Elizabethtown-Kitley will receive $50,000 for a North Augusta Road employment lands servicing study.
North Grenville is receiving $35,000 for a Downtown Kemptville secondary plan, and Gananoque gets $20,000 for a business retention and investment attraction project.
The province says the first ROD intake is providing more than $5.5 million for 116 projects across rural Ontario.
