A longtime customer of Prescott’s Cozy Clozet is now on the other side of the counter, hoping to make affordable fashion more accessible to local shoppers.
Shannon Marrs took over the clothing store last month after an unexpected opportunity arose following health complications earlier this year. She decided her previous job was no longer the right fit and jumped at the chance to own a business she already loved.
Marrs had been a regular customer even before Cozy Clozet opened, making the transition to owner a natural next step.
The store sells men’s and women’s clothing, along with home decor and candles, offering shoppers a variety of options in an area with limited choices.
Marrs said securing the funding needed to get the business running and keep it moving forward has been a challenge. Still, she finds the work rewarding, particularly because of the customers who come through the doors.
She hopes to make Cozy Clozet a Prescott mainstay in the future.
The store is open Monday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 294 King St. W.
