Organizers are calling it their best fair yet
The 170th Spencerville Fair broke attendance records as over 10,000 people packed the grounds Saturday to watch the RCMP Musical Ride, brought back for the first time since 1987 by fair vice-president Eric Connell.
Main Street overflowed with cars, parking lots were full early, and long lines formed at the gates. Attendees were urged to be seated by 12:30 p.m. for the show.
The four-day fair featured a first-ever drone show, live music by the Road Hammers, monster trucks, farm animals, kids’ art, and more.
Two exhibition halls showcased local talent, while Building One hosted the fair’s 60-year quilt raffle. This year’s winning giant pumpkin weighed in at 1,121 pounds.
Families came from near and far — including Germany — to take part. Organizers credited strong community support and ideal weather for the success.
Connell called it “the best fair we’ve ever thrown.”
