Two men from Quebec were arrested Monday night after a stolen 2026 GMC Sierra was recovered following a dangerous chase through Brockville.
Brockville Police say a motorist called at around 9:10 p.m. to report nearly being hit by the pickup as it left the Riverside GM dealership on Stewart Blvd. The truck, stolen from the dealership, was driven at high speed along local streets and the 401 highway.
Police, with help from dealership staff and witnesses, traced the stolen truck to a Prescott grocery store. Grenville County OPP assisted in arresting Benjamin Beland, 44, and Eric Quintin, 45, at a gas station in Prescott.
Both face multiple charges including theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation, and possession of break-in instruments.
Brockville Police praised civilian witnesses and dealership staff, noting the arrests happened within an hour of the theft. Both men remain in custody awaiting bail hearings later this month.
