A 25-year-old man from Quebec is facing several charges after a stolen vehicle investigation in Brockville.
Police say officers conducted a traffic stop on Hamilton Street at about 1 a.m. on Feb. 8. During the investigation, they learned the vehicle had been reported stolen. The lone male driver was arrested at the scene.
A search of the vehicle allegedly found improperly stored firearm ammunition and several debit cards not in the accused’s name.
Police say the man was on two probation orders from the Quebec Court at the time. One order barred him from driving following an impaired driving conviction. The other prohibited him from possessing weapons or ammunition.
He was also bound by a release order requiring him to remain at a specific residence overnight.
The accused is charged with possession of stolen property and several breach-related offences. He was held for a bail hearing and will appear in court at a later date.
