UCDSB has recorded improvements in EQAO scores across all grades in reading, writing, and math
For the second consecutive year, the Upper Canada District School Board has recorded improvements in EQAO scores across all grades in reading, writing, and math. The UCDSB is the only school board in Ontario to show growth in all eight assessed categories two years in a row.
The 2024–25 results reveal the strongest gains in Grade 3 math and Grade 6 writing, with a notable increase also seen in Grade 9 math. Officials credit the success to a renewed focus on fundamental skills, stronger alignment between curriculum and EQAO expectations, and increased use of EQAO-style learning activities in classrooms.
Ongoing efforts to support student achievement include enhanced teacher training in best instructional practices, additional classroom resources, and system-wide support in literacy and numeracy. The board says these initiatives are helping to close learning gaps and strengthen overall student performance throughout the district.
